Two teams from Class 3 competed in
the East Cornwall Countdown Cricket Festival at Duloe Cricket Club. Competing
against teams from Looe, Stoke Climsland, Calstock and St Breock.
Both teams played exceptionally well and showed great
sportsmanship!
Earlier this year, we focused on the question 'How can we make the world a better place?' Class 2 were fascinated by the role and the importance of trees and decided they would like to be courageous advocates and plant some of their own. We had 10 trees, kindly donated to us, and were able to plant them on the rec ground for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to watching them grow and flourish over the years.
A big thank you to Mrs Massey-McCarthy, Mrs Russell-Hsieh and Duloe Recreation Ground for their support.

Class 1 enjoyed a lovely train ride to Looe as part of their learning about Grace Darling.

The children had a tour of Looe RNLI where they got to see the equipment and vehicles that the crew use.
We then visited Looe beach where the children got to carry out some geography field work, sketching and sand scultptures, a game of boccia and most importantly toast some marshmallows!
A huge thank you to Mrs Currah for organising such a wonderful day and all the staff who helped it to be such a success.
On Wednesday, children represented our school at Looe Community Academy's Quad Kids Event. Competing in standing long jump, javelin throw, and an 800m run. A great time was had by all. A big thank you to Looe Community Academy for hosting the event.
This week, the whole school took part in The Bridge Schools Games. Events included standing long jump, speed bounce, shot put, French Boules and a French themed football event.
Our year 6s had the responsibility of teaching each group how to complete the different events. The children all showed great sportsmanship cheering and encouraging each other - now to await the results!
Preparations are in full swing for tomorrow's summer fete. The children have been busy today baking a selection of fantastic treats which will be on sale from our school stall tomorrow.
The summer fete promises to be a fantastic day with loads of fun for all the family. Plus, as a bonus, the organisers are kindly donating a considerable proportion of the money raised to our school PTFA.
Our 15 children in Year 6 did an excellent job with their SATs. The children were calm and focused and it was an absolute pleasure to see them approach the week in such a mature way. After their final assessment of the week, not only did the children gorge themselves on popcorn and biscuits, but they were also given their leavers hoodies to wear for the rest of the term. Governor, Penny Geech, presented their hoodies.
We would also like to thank Penny for generously volunteering her time to help invigilate the SATs assessments all week.
Class 3 visited Porthpean Outdoor Adventure Centre where the children were able to participate in a range of activities from rock pooling to giant SUPs and Kayaking. Luckily, the weather was very kind to us, and we were also spoilt by seeing a number of seals while we were on the water.
