Outdoor Education

Class 1 had an Outdoor Learning Day based around the book 'A Scarecrow's Wedding' by Julia Donaldson. The children took part in a range of activities from scavenger hunts, to fire lighting and making their own scarecrows.

Fun in the sun

Nursery and Class 1 have had a lovely end to the half-term. Not only have they got ready for the jubilee celebrations, they have been enjoying the summer weather and getting outside as much as possible.

Art and Design - Jubilee

Class 1  had their artwork displayed at the Liskeard Platinum Jubilee Arts and Craft Competition last week. A huge well done to all of the children for their fantastic work. The queen would be very impressed!

Jubilee Celebrations

Class 1 finished off their Jubilee topic for the half term by holding a party for their families. The children made decorations and a selection food for the event. The children looked amazing in their crowns!

Poetry

During their daily guided reading lesson, Class 3 focused on reading for enjoyment by selecting  a variety of poetry books and reading them sat on their desks, under their desks or anywhere that took their fancy.

Moor Day

Class 3 spent the day of Bodmin Moor, near Minions, this week, to take part in a range of activities. They made shelters and learnt key factors about survival, played the ancient game of hurlers at the Hurlers and learnt about their history, and created some wonderful art work using natural materials to create colours.

Chess Club

Our team of chess players have been developing their skills and are growing into some budding grandmasters. It has been wonderful to see children from different year groups playing together and testing their game strategy.

Maritime Museum

As part of Class 3's Viking topic and Class 2's pirate topic, both classes visited the Maritime Museum in Falmouth. The children took part in different workshops and toured the museum, looking at all of the exhibits.

Plymouth Aquarium

As part of Class 1's topic, they visited Plymouth Aquarium. They took part in a workshop to learn all about sea life and how to protect it, as well as having a guided tour. The children had a wonderful time, learnt a huge amount and were very tired on the bus ride home!

Cross Country

Well done to our Cross Country team who collected their medals for taking part in 4 or more of the cross-country races organised by East Cornwall Harriers this season. The children did an amazing job and we hope to have even more children take part next year.
