Thank you for all the positive feedback about VIPERS last week. I am glad you enjoyed the reading and film comprehensions so much. As a result, I have attached more this week to go alongside the Mathletics that has been set and the White Rose Maths resources that will be sent to you.
As always, if you want to email Mr Hannah or Mrs Wright with anything you have been up to at home, we would love to see it.
Thank you also to all the Year 5 children who have responded to the Microsoft Teams invitation. We will be running a test lesson this week. More to follow...
As part of home learning this week, there are a selection of video comprehensions where you stop the video at certain points and answer the question. These video are a fun way to work on your VIPERS skills which you use when carrying out comprehensions.
White Rose and Mathletics activities have been set as normal and Mrs Wright has put together some activities that reflect the wider curriculum learning happening in our 'bubble' at the moment.
This week we welcome more of Class 3 back into school, but there are still a selection of activities you may wish to complete at home.
Thank you so much for your responses from last weeks home learning. It was great to see so many of you involved in the virtual rainbow run for Children's Hospice Southwest and also getting involved with our MusicHub events and Virtual Cornwall Sports activities.
Take care and remember you can always email Mr Hannah and Mrs Wright with anything you have been up to.
We have such an exciting week ahead of us!
We will be taking part in the Cornwall Virtual School Games, the Cornwall Music Education Hub and also having a Rainbow run.
Hopefully you will join in the fun at home too.
All of the information you need for the events are attached to this email but please get in touch if there is anything that you are unsure of.
We would love to see any photos and videos of you taking part and next week I will share some photos from us in school

With some members of Year 6 returning back to school this week, home learning has changed to mirror the activities Year 6 will be undertaking. There will obviously be more activities than normal, but if you are supporting your child at home with their learning, please feel free to dip in and out as you wish. There is no expectation to complete all activities.
Maths will remain the same with activities set each week on Mathletics and worksheets emailed to you to go alongside the instruction videos on the White Rose website.
Each day there will be a comprehension activity. The comprehensions are differentiated (three stars the hardest and one star the easiest) so please select the difficulty of the text/questions you would like to complete. The answers are also included.
Developing the range of sentence structures children use when writing and been one of our key areas of development this year. The sentence structure attachment looks at three different sentence structures each day which the children can then have a go at whilst also trying to include vocabulary from the Year 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 spelling sheets.
Over the next few weeks the children will be writing a story of their choice. The writing attachment has daily activities that will build up as the children plan, draft and write their stories.
Please check out the attachment below for some optional half-term ideas.
Enjoy the weather and have a wonderful time.
