Class Blog for Class 3

Home Learning

The attachments below contain daily learning activities for phonics/reading, mathematics and writing and a weekly selection of wider curriculum activities that could be carried out.

We fully understand that due to a range of reasons, not every activity will be completed, especially if you have work commitments and children at other schools who also need to continue with their learning. We are keen to give your children as much consistency and structure as possible however, as the length of absence from school is undetermined.

With regards to resources, we do not expect you to be able to print off all the information. Please use your own judgement to decide how your child records their learning. For example, if we set a reading comprehension activity, the most productive approach may be for your child to answer the questions verbally. However, if you have access to any exercise books or lined paper, this will certainly be beneficial. We will try to offer a range of activities that are open-ended and do not require internet access.

We will also deliberately keep the activities quite light and fun for this week, to help you get your children engaged in the process.

Setting remote learning is also a new challenge for us as teachers. This an opportunity for us to trial different approaches. If you have any constructive feedback, we would genuinely like to hear from. Our primary goal is to continue to provide a well-rounded education for your child, but this will now be done a rather unfamiliar manner!

Thank you all for your cooperation, support and kind words over the last few days.
