Pre-School Staff
Mrs Andrew is our Year Reception / Year 1 Class Teacher. Mrs Andrews oversees the learning of our
Pre-School children. Mrs Barrett gained
the BTEC National Diploma in Childhood studies and has been a valued member of
our team for many years. Mrs Bartlett
joined our Pre-School five Years ago, she has an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Playwork.
We understand that starting pre-school can be a very daunting process, for children and parents, therefore we offer settling in sessions to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Learning in Pre-School - We follow the Early Years Development Matters. Children focus on working towards their early learning goals. Staff use the Tapestry online platform to record children’s learning. Tapestry provides parents with an insight into their child’s learning journey. Learning in Pre-school is mostly achieved through play, children are encouraged to use their imagination and learn through creative play. In our Pre-School setting children interact with one another, often taking part in group work. Group sessions support the social, emotional and personal developments of children. Our Pre-school class room is situated next to Class 1. We encourage our Pre-School children to venture into class 1 to engage with our Year Reception & Year 1 pupils, this ensuring a smooth transition.
Daily Routines - Access
to Pre-school is located at the front of school via the gate to the left. We have a doorbell at the gate, you will be
greeted by a member of staff. Children
