Author Visit - David Baddiel

With World Book Day on the horizon, Class 2 and Class 3 had a virtual visit from author David Baddiel. He spoke about his writing process and why he was inspired to become a writer. He went down incredibly well with the children as all of his books have been taken from the school library!

Book Club

Eight lucky children received golden tickets yesterday to join our exclusive new book club. The children also received a brand new book: Bronte Tempestra and the Lightening Seeds by Bex Hogan.

Mrs Currah will be meeting with the children once a week to read and discuss the book, and the children will also have a virtual meeting with the author as well.

The children will then become ambassadors of the story, sharing with others and encouraging them to choose the book from our school library.

be reading and discussing the text

Big World Fair

Are you a traitor or a faithful?

Class 3 held a 'Traitors' day based on the BBC television programme. The children carried out a range of activities throughout the day and tried to find the traitors lurking within them!!!

Art and Design - School Parable - The Lost Sheep

The whole had a collapsed curriculum day today to focus on Art and Design, and specifically drawing. Children focused on different skills in different classes to produce 100 drawings of sheep to be combined in a display at our school entrance.

The parable of The Lost Sheep encompasses many of our school Christian Values and helps us to think as school as a family within which if we make a mistake we will always be forgiven and loved.

Art and Design - child led club

We have been hugely impressed by a number of children in Class 3 who have decided to organise and run an Arts club once a week for children from across the school to attend. They have had a huge turn out and the children have enjoyed sharing their creative flair to produce a number of wonderful pieces of artwork.

Computing - photography

Class 3 have been learning how to take, upload and edit digital images in their computing lessons. The children have demonstrated their creative flair and captured some truly remarkable photographs.

Internal Sports Competetion

Each half term at Duloe we hold an internal sports competetion based upon the area the children are focusing within their PE lessons. This half-term the children have been looking at target games, so we came together to show off our skills in a number of different ways.

Religious Education - Christmas Wreaths

As part of Class 1's Religious Education, we looked at 'Incarnation' in the build up to Christmas. The children made their own wreaths as part of their learning abour advent made from natural materials and decorated them with candles to represent the Sundays building up to Christmas Day.

The names Bond, James Bond

This half-term Class 3 have been linking their learning to James Bond. In their computing lessons, they have planned and created their own movie trailers for a James Bond film of their own. The children have demonstrated fantastic technical ability and really shown their creative flair!
