Harvest Charity

We would like to say a huge thank you for all of your kind donations toward the Shoe Box appeal. These Christmas boxes, donated by the children and families of our school, will be donated to disadvantaged families in Eastern Europe.

Physical Education

All the children at Duloe have been taking part in a virtual sports competition against other schools in Cornwall. The children have carried out a number of athletics challenges, including sprinting and throwing.

Art and Design

Class 3 have been showing off their artistic skills by using acrylic paints to paint a local scene, in the style of local artist Brian Pollard.

Autumn Sun

Class 3 have been making the most of the Autumn sunshine by taking their classroom outside onto the playground. The children moved their tables and chairs outside while they were writing their own story openings.

Diocese Christmas Card Competition

It may only be the middle of October, but the children have already been getting into the Christmas spirit, by designing and making Christmas cards for the Diocese of Cornwall. The children showed off their creative skills in every class and produced some wonderful images.

PHSE and RSE curriculum

We would welcome your feedback on the introduction of the new PSHE and RSE curriculum that has just been launched across the trust. As the DfE stated in July “Today’s children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way. (Gavin Williamson Secretary of State for Education). The documentation can be found on our website here. Please use the form on the website to leave feedback by the 22nd October. Thank-you.

Speak out. Stay safe. with Buddy

This week Class 1, 2 and 3 have all had assemblies based on the guidance from the NSPCC and Childline. The children learnt about speaking to a trusted adult adult if something made them uncomfortable. As the posters show, they also learnt about PANTS and the underwear rule.

Childline is there to support children. Whatever your worry, you can talk to them. It's free, you don't have to tell them your name, and you can chat about anything.

Class 1 Learners

Class 1 have been very busy learners this week. Reception, with the help of Andy from Arena, have been improving their riding skills in their bike-ability sessions. Year 1 have been developing their addition skills in maths, looking at different number bonds. As a whole class they have been learning lots of amazing facts about dinosaurs and also had a visit from the Cornwall Music Service Trust to test out their musical skills.

Cornwall Music Service Trust

The Cornwall Music Service Trust will be working with us every week to provide expert music lessons in school. The children had an amazing time during their first session and their new music teacher was very impressed with the children's singing and rhythm.

Can we still explore?

As part of Class 2's project, 'Can we still explore?' they have been creating their own maps and using map reading skills to locate key features around the school.
