Wild Tribe

Exploring our senses in Wild Tribe – Class 1 have been taking time to look and listen, making clay faces with autumn treasures and eating popcorn and hot choc made on the campfire!

Outdoor Coordinates

In one of this weeks maths lessons, the children used their chars to create an outdoors coordinate grid on the playground. We play games where the children had to reach certain coordinates as fast as they could, competing against one another.

First Week

It has been an absolute delight, to welcome back all of the children after the summer holidays. The weather has been kind, which has helped to get all the children outside and make the most of our wonderful environment. All of our new children have settled in fantastically well and already feel part of our school family.

Thank you all for your support with the pick up and drop off times. Everything seems to be working smoothly. As always, any feedback to improve things is always welcome.

Welcome back

I hope you all had a good summer break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 7th September. A special warm welcome to all those children and families who are starting in Reception and Nursery as well as those children and families who are joining us from other schools. We have new children joining in every year group, which is fantastic news.

For information relatiing to returning to school, please see the attached Heads letter that has been emailed to all parent/carers and a copy of our risk assessment relating to the full return of children.

As always, if you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes,

Mr Hannah

Balloon Fun

Some of our Year 6 and 5 children have been enjoying the wonderful Summer weather and playing with giant balloons on the school field. We have been looking at different activities the children can do to have fun and get some exercise whilst social distancing and these balloons proved a very popular choice.

Coding to fly drones

This week the children have been using our brand new Ipads to write code which has controlled drones. The children have got to grips with the new technology really quickly and have already advanced to coding which makes their drones flip over in mid-air and take photos, which they can also upload in class.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

Mrs Wright, Mrs Campbell and Mrs Rice have been incredibly inventive over the last few weeks, creating a socially distanced Year 6 leavers production. The children have performed all of the songs to 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'. The children got to dress up as all of the characters and freeze frame key parts of the story. The pictures were then added onto a DVD with the accompanying singing by the children so they all had a record of their achievements.  Staff and children did incredibly well is creating such a creative performance in such strange times. Wee done to you all!

Flower Power

The entrance to our school has really blossomed over the last few weeks as the flowers that the children have planted with the help of the PTFA have come to life. The mixture of the warm weather and rain has really seem the flourish. The make a wonderful first impression when you visit our school.

Skeleton Art

Mrs Dunn's 'Bubble' have been busy learning about the human skeleton and have been creating their our skeletons by using any objects they can find around the playground. Mrs Dunn has been making sure the correct number of ribs have been added and everything was in the right place!

New Ipads

This week we have been very lucky to take delivery of 16 brand new Ipads to improve our Computing provision within school. The children have got straight into using them by using coding apps to produce a range of animations. We are looking forward to using them across the curriculum in the coming months.
