In November, all the children created artwork to enter the Get Creative for Climate Justice Parliamentary Exhibition. We have just heard that two of our very talented artists have had their work chosen for the exhibition. Their artwork will be shown in an exhibition at the Houses of Parliament. Very well done!

On Tuesday we had a visit from Reverend Ben to all our classes.
In Class 3 they talked about science vs creation, the children grilled him with their theological questions and Mr Hodgins asked about the meaning of life.

Class 2 looked at 'Why do Christians call the day Jesus died ‘Good Friday’? They were able to make links between the Gospel texts and how Christians mark the Easter events in their church communities.

Class 1 explored 'Which stories are special and why?' They looked at what people believe and the difference this makes to how they live.

Mr Hodgins hosted a TEAMs call where he taught Class 3 how to scan an image on the photocopier, the children will then use software to alter and adapt them. Their scanned images will be used to create a piece of artwork which can be used as part of a wider presentation about the planets in the solar system.

A team of 6 children from Duloe travelled to Callywith College to take part in the annual Bridge Schools Dodgeball tournament. All 15 Bridge schools were represented and our team from Duloe did an amazing job. The children showed great sportsmanship and played incredibly. A huge well done to them all for representing Duloe so well.

What talented artists we have in Class 1! Throughout our painting focus in art we have been learning all about primary colours and how to mix them to create secondary colours. We have also been thinking about how to apply paint using different techniques such as sponges and rollers and exploring when we would use paintbrushes of different thicknesses. These skills are on display in our classroom next to our beautifully published ‘Goals for 2025’.

This week, Year 6 took part in a Hyrox Competition hosted at Duloe, alongside other Year 6 children from Pelynt and Trenode. Hyrox is a cross-fit type activity which involves lots of running and lots of strength-based activities. The children had an amazing time, showed a great competitive spirit and were wonderful sports. The event also gave the children the opportunity to meet other Year 6 children who will be starting secondary school in September.
